Memory Makers Workshop for Kids - Airplanes
The History Center will highlight its collection of Alexander Lippisch
artifacts. Lippisch worked for Collins Radio and developed many
experimental aircrafts. Each child will create a toy airplaine to take
home. Recommended for children ages 4 to 8 accompanied by an adult. Recommended donation is $3.Saturday, August 28th, 1:00 to 2:30 pm – Downtown Walking Tour w/Mark Stoffer Hunter
Join Mark on the fourth Saturday of each month between May and September. These tours will depart from the History Center. Join us as we walk and listen to interesting and unforgettable stories about the people, area buildings, and events that took place in the earlier days of Cedar Rapids. Admission for each tour is $7 for adults, $6 for History Center members, and $5 for children ages 8 and up.Saturday, August 28th "Corn County" Exhibit Opens

Saturday, September 18th, 10:30 to 11:30 am – Memory Makers Workshop for Kids - Corn Husk Dolls
The workshop will begin with a look at the many food and non-food items made from corn. Children will explore the History Center's temporary exhibit "Corn County" and then craft a cornhusk doll. Recommended for children ages 4 to 8 accompanied by an adult. Recommended donation is $3.00.
