Learn about the lives of Civil War soldiers and others through Civil War re-enactors.  

Saturday, March 3, 10:30 a.m. to Noon– Reception of Art Quilts Exhibit

In partnership with the East Iowa Heirloom Quilters, art quilts from local quilters will be on display, along with snacks and discussions with local quilt artists.

Thursday, March 15, 1:00 p.m.– S.O.S. Quilt Making

Join Judy Heilers of the East Iowa Heirloom Quilters in tying quilts for charity.  Learn how to do and then jump right in to help make quilts for those who need them.

What did people wear in the past?  We'll explore what and how people wore what they did and make paper dolls to take home.

March 17, 2012Music and Dance

What are the kinds of music and dance that different cultures brought to Iowa? Listen to music, try a dance or two and make your own instrument to take home.

April 21, 2012On the Farm

What was it like to be a kid on an Iowa farm in the past? We'll make some butter and a barn of animals to take home.

May 19, 2012Coming to Iowa

How did people travel to Iowa over time? We'll talk about all of the ways people traveled and make a covered wagon to take home.


All Memory Makers programs are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month and begin at 10:30am.  Each program lasts approximately one hour.  Scout troops welcome!
