History Center Updates and Improvements
This year is the 10th year the Carl & Mark Koehler History Center has been in operation. Two major goals are slated for accomplishment—bring in more visitors and raise more revenue. In addition, upgrades will be made to enhance meeting room facilities with the addition of theatrical lighting and new projection and sound systems. A new orientation theater is also being developed in the area that was formerly the museum store. It will include a state-of-the-art visual and sound experience to be called Time Traveler. Both of these projects should be completed by the end of 2008. Plans also are underway to move the reception desk to a new lobby location. This will make room for new exhibit cases in the lobby area. The History Center will soon begin to upgrade current gallery exhibits making those presentations more interactive and giving them more visual impact.
