Join us on The History Center lawn for drinks, food trucks and live music featuring Jaxx Nassar, an emerging singer, songwriter, and artist who grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Her music career began at the age of seven, when she learned to play the drums. By eight years old, she had picked up the guitar and it is now her main instrument, although somewhere in between she managed to learn to play bass and keyboard. Jaxx has proven to be very versatile, playing original rock songs as well as just about anything you could think to ask her to play.
She graduated from the Arts and Education Program at the Delta Blues Museum in 2000 as Most Outstanding Student. While with the band "Blues Prodigy", she won the W.C. Handy Kids Foundation Award. Jaxx was chosen to receive first Robert Johnson Award for Youth Excellence which was presented to her by Morgan Freeman and Steve Johnson (The famed Robert Johnson's grandson). She subsequently became a permanent fixture at 'Ground Zero' Blues Club in Clarksdale MS., where she learned her craft from the best of Blues legends.
