Information for Teachers
The History Center provides educational programs for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. Our programs take place at The History Center located at 800 2nd Ave SE. Programs may be scheduled by contacting Jenny Thielman at jenny@historycenter.org or by calling (319)362-1501.
Early Learners: Puppet Program is geared toward Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Students engage in different historical topics and share their own personal history with CeCe Rabbit, The History Center’s puppet ambassador.
Second Grade Tours: Students will discuss topics such as the early settlement and development of Cedar Rapids. Engage with The History Center and learn how kids played using vintage toys.
Third Grade Tours: Students will discuss topics such as the migration and immigration to Cedar Rapids and Artifact Exploration. Take part in The History Center's vintage toys to learn how kids played.

The program fee is $3 per student. Program fees are currently covered by our education sponsors, making these programs free of charge to students and teachers.
