Epic Rebirth - A Celebration of Achievement

Two media outlets have captured the 2008 flood story from day one, and are now working together to host a community celebration for all to enjoy.

The Gazette and KCRG-TV9 invite you to Epic Rebirth: A Celebration of Achievement, scheduled for June 13 from 4:30pm-8:00pm at Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Cedar Rapids. This event is free and open to the public.

Guests will experience live performances, connect with community resources, and hear from city leaders about what’s next for Cedar Rapids.

  • 4:30pm-Community Showcase. Connect with more than 25 community resources to learn about upcoming initiatives and events. Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Jeff Capps will provide musical entertainment and the American Red Cross will showcase their emergency vehicle while providing snacks and beverages to attendees.

  • 6:30pm-Live Program. Hosted by Bruce Aune and Beth Malicki, the live broadcast will feature interview-style segments with performances by Voices of Hope and Theatre Cedar Rapids. Segments will include representatives from emergency response, local government, core neighborhoods and more.

Special thanks to Presenting Sponsor Mercy Medical Center and Community Sponsors Linn County & Building Trades, Built By Pros, Black Sheep, Clock House and Veterans Memorial Commission.
